Streptococcus

Streptococcus

There are over 50 groups of streptococcus bacteria, each with multiple strains of the bacteria that cause symptoms and conditions, including:

  • Acne
  • UTIs
  • Pneumonia
  • Interstitial cystitis
  • Chronic allergies
  • Chronic sinusitis
  • Intestinal disorders
  • SIBO
  • Otitis media
  • Sties
  • Pelvic Inflammatory Disease
  • Prostatitis
  • Sore throats
  • Headaches & migraines
  • Fatigue
  • Confusion
  • Bacterial vaginosis
  • Yeast infections
  • Bladder sensitivities
  • Low-grade fevers
  • And more

The activity level of strep in the body ebbs and flows depending on the state of a person’s immune system and current life circumstances.

Even medical research and science know by now that there’s more than Streptococcus Group A and Group B. While medically recognized groups stop partway through the alphabet, the truth is that there are enough strep groups to go beyond Z. These different groups and strains explain why two people with strep can have different symptoms and conditions.

We can have strains of Streptococcus bacteria inside us that have been passed down from our parents, that we’ve had since a childhood case of strep throat, and/or that we’ve picked up along the way throughout life. For example, it’s very easy to pick up multiple varieties of strep bacteria through intimate contact, restaurant food, bathrooms, and more.
