Wild Blueberry Lemonade

This colorful twist on traditional lemonade offers so many more antioxidants and healing benefits than the original. The addition of the most healing food on the planet—wild blueberries, plus raw honey, and fresh lemon juice instead of preserved or pasteurized lemon juice, makes for a deeply healing and delicious drink. It’s also a delight for the eyes that is fun to serve at any family or social gatherings!

As I share in my book Thyroid Healing, “wild blueberries help restore the central nervous system and flush EBV neurotoxins out of the liver. They contain exceptionally powerful antioxidants that help repair your thyroid’s tissue and reduce the growth of nodules. They help remove toxic heavy metals from the brain and liver. Ultimately, this all means that wild blueberries stop a shrinking brain and a shrinking thyroid. Not to be confused with their larger, cultivated cousins, wild blueberries can be found in the freezer section of many grocery stores.”

Ingredients:

  • 8oz wild blueberry juice
  • 2oz fresh lemon juice (about 1-2 lemons)
  • 2 Tablespoons raw honey or maple syrup
  • 2-4 oz water
  • Ice, to serve
  • 2 tbsp fresh blueberries, to serve
  • 2 lemon slices, to serve

Directions:

Squeeze the fresh lemons and add the raw honey to the lemon juice, stirring until the raw honey or maple syrup is fully dissolved. Mix in the wild blueberry juice and water and stir. Add ice, fresh blueberries and lemon slices if desired. Serve immediately or keep in the fridge for 2-3 days.

Serves: 1-2
